The Real Club Náutico Dénia hosted, the "I Congress Remo for All", organized by the Rowing Federation of the Comunitat Valenciana. A day that served to publicize the adapted paddle sponsored by SUMA Tax Administration and the federative entity itself.
In this congress the most sensitive side of the sport was introduced, giving the opportunity to people with intellectual disabilities, to practice a sport as complete and connected with nature as is the rowing. The objective was to open and promote rowing between different groups, an initiative that has the sponsorship of the Dénia Yacht Club and SUMA Gestión Tributaria and the collaboration of Paralympic Relay.
It was attended by 22 coaches and instructors from different rowing clubs in the Comunitat Valenciana who saw the opportunity to train in the adapted rowing. They could learn, from the hand of great professionals of education, psychology and sports, the fundamental aspects to be able to impart this sport to people with functional diversities.
The different presentations in the morning served to contextualize the situation of the athletes and understand the reactions and behaviors to take into account to manage the development of the training sessions. In the afternoon, the round table was held and, in addition, those present were able to value what they had learned thanks to the practical work carried out with athletes belonging to the associations Tots junts podem of Valencia and Adiem of Torrevieja.
The congress is included in the Corporate Social Responsibility actions organized by the Rowing Federation of the Valencian Community and aims to be the starting point to make the sport of rowing become a reference sport for anyone who wants to practice it.
In this way, the yacht clubs of Torrevieja, Santa Pola, Benidorm, Calpe, Denia, Gandia, Oliva, as well as the rowing clubs of the Fishermen's Association of Torrevieja, Club Rem Marina Dénia and Cía Gandia already have trained instructors and instructors to teach and promote the practice of rowing between athletes with intellectual and / or mental disabilities.
