The PP reaches out to both PSPV and Compromís to achieve a stable Dénia government

Stability above all. This will be the objective of the Popular Party of Dénia before the investiture of the Dénia City Council. And maybe once in the past too. It is now time for agreements after election results without sufficient majorities for anyone to govern alone, and although Pepa Font, the popular leader, acknowledges that it is the PSPV, as the winner, that must make a move, she does not rule out being able to establish a alternative government to that of PSPV-Compromís.

Pepa Font has summoned the media this morning to make an assessment of her results on Sunday, where her strength has grown considerably in each electoral college. For this reason, she has shown her satisfaction and has thanked both the trust of the people and the work of her family. "The Popular Party has returned to Dénia," she said with a wide smile.

Font assumes that "at last the people have a voice that represents them" and points out that the presence they have achieved, with seven councilors in the next legislature, makes them reborn as an option to govern. And although it might seem at first that he was talking about future elections, the truth is that he was speaking in the present. Pepa Font sees the PP with the possibility of governing, because "the numbers give."

PSPV or Commitment

They say they have not made a move yet, since they admit that this responsibility belongs to Vicent Grimalt as the winner of the elections, but he has been very clear: "An intelligent bet would be to contact us for a government in stability." She would not only be willing to favor the socialist government and stand aside, but also consider the option of entering the government alongside them. Their argument is not without logic, since they indicate that they have the majority of the Diputación and the Generalitat, which would make it much easier to govern in the municipality. They would open the doors.

But he also admits that they can achieve it with Compromís, that the numbers give again, and in this case they would start with the advantage of having more representation and votes than if they agree with PSPV. That is to say, if they reached an agreement with Compromís and, at least, the abstention of Gent de Dénia and Vox, the Mayor's Office would surely belong to her.

The popular has admitted that there are differences in the program, but that when negotiating in a municipality there are no red lines and points can be given up to get others. In addition, she considers that all the candidacies also have many proposals in common, so joint work would not be impossible. The main demand that she would make does not seem to disrupt the plans of either PSPV or Compromís: "We are going to demand that Dénia get better."

Pepa Font has defended being in favor of achieving stable governments, in the face of the "chaotic" work of a simple majority. She and she insists that the message of the citizens has been clear and they want another way of governing, so she offers to join "with whoever can help me improve Dénia", making "programs compatible".
