The spokesperson for the Popular Group in the Dénia City Council, María Mut, has presented a motion, which will be raised to the Plenary of the City Council, in which she requests that the Dianense town opt to obtain the distinction of City of Science and Innovation.

From the PP they ask that the City Council present the appropriate procedures and evaluations for the candidacy of the city of Dénia before the Ministry of Science and Innovation, within the established deadlines for this distinction to be granted (maximum term until 2 of December).

The Ministry of Science and Innovation has announced that it is working on improving this appeal with concrete measures. In this sense, it has approved a pilot project that will be managed by the General Secretariat for Innovation, endowed with 10 million euros between 2021 and 2022, to facilitate the incorporation of innovation agents in distinguished municipalities.

The cities distinguished with this award are part of the Network of "Cities of Science and Innovation" and the INNPULSO Network Association (ARINN). The Network is a forum for meeting and defining innovative local policies where experiences and projects are shared.
