Although it may seem otherwise, the winter months in Dénia are full of festive events that mobilize an important group of people. If a few days ago we were talking about the celebration of the Mig Any of the Fiesta Mayor, today it is time to echo an already consolidated Mig Any: that of the Moors and Christians of Dénia.

Next week will be full of celebrations in a program "according to what can be developed without removing the essence of the party in the times that run", As explained by the president of the FEMMICC, Josele Maldonado.

The events will begin on Monday with the decision of the jury of the drawing and photography contests and the opening of the exhibitions at the Municipal House of Culture, starting at 19:30 p.m., with the presence of the captains, flag bearers and municipal representatives . This year the schools of La Xara and Jesús Pobre have joined the drawing contest for the first time, which until now had not participated. In total, 3.500 sheets have been distributed so that the students of the educational centers of Dénia capture their images of the Moors and Christians festival.

On Tuesday, the 20 hours, will take place in the Social Center of the acts recently joined the program Mig Any, presentation Captains and flag bearers. will award prizes for drawing and photography competitions in the same act. This year, and due to economic circumstances, the FEMMICC has sought for the first time the official patronage of a private company, and it will be the Dorian Gray pub that will act as "patron" from the party. Thus, on Thursday night from the 23: 30 there will be charanga and bar at popular prices, as in the Paddy O'Connell Pub.

This year, like last year, they have joined and held receptions on the day, with the difference that in this 2014 also be the day that traditionally gala dinner was held. Friday night revelers and festeras will meet in Llunàtics facilities to share a dinner sobaquillo again enlivened by a brass band in which there will be open bar.

The program of events for the week of Mig Any of Moors and Christians in Dénia 22 end on Saturday with the celebration of the festive entraeta from the Plaza del Consell to the port from 19: 30 hours. To end the celebration and after dinner in each row, there will be charanga and drinks at reasonable prices in pubs Dorian Gray and The Tinglao.
