On the occasion of the International Day of Breast Cancer, the Hospital de Dénia has enabled a training space so that women who wish to can learn to perform a breast self-examination correctly.
It is a workshop in individual format given by Dr. Begoña Patiño, a surgeon specializing in breast pathology and head of the breast unit at the Hospital de Dénia, which will take place on Tuesday, October 19.
Women who wish to learn to examine their breasts, can go to the Dénia Hospital assembly hall, at any time, between 10:00 and 12:00. To do this, the doctor uses different models of breasts, some of them have masses or nodules of different sizes and textures, which allow her to explain what can be found inside.
The objective of this workshop is to promote and educate women about the importance of breast self-examination for the detection of any possible anomaly. Since, as Dr. Patiño points out: “Early detection is a very important factor in curing the disease. And each woman can, through a regular self-examination, detect any changes that are suspicious ”.
