The fire prevails over the rain: the Fallas de Dénia dismiss the longest exercise in history
Yesterday a fallero exercise in Dénia like no other came to an end. It started in 2019 and it was not until March 2022 that the presidents and major falleras of each commission were able to pass the baton to their successors.
They have said goodbye to "their year" (which has actually been three) dodging the rain as best they could. To begin with, the flower offering had to be delayed to wait for the rain to stop. Luckily, the weather gave a break and it stopped raining for the rest of the day, allowing them to go out to the last big parade.
And Sant Josep stayed dry until the cremà of the big fallas, when a big downpour jeopardized the night that closed the festivities. However, it was only a short scare, because finally the water ceased and the fire prevailed in each Dianense district.
