The Dénia Humanities Festival returns with a new spring edition and is positioned as a benchmark in the Mediterranean region for critical thinking and reflection
The Dénia Festival of the Humanities returns with a new spring edition, organized by the Dénia City Council, the Generalitat Valenciana and the Baleària shipping company. The event, which will take place on March 27 and 28, aims to create a space for reflection and dialogue on the human condition and the humanities.
The festival is coordinated by the Dénia Creative City of Gastronomy Foundation of the Valencian Community and academically directed by La Maleta de Portbou. It seeks to become an annual event for critical thinking and reflection, while Dénia is positioned as a benchmark in the world of humanities in the Mediterranean region.
The first day of the Dénia Festival de les Humanitats will be dedicated to the presentation of a special number of La Maleta de Portbou at the Dénia Municipal Library. Those in charge of the presentation will be the academic director of the festival, Josep Ramoneda, and the professor of Human Geography at the University of Valencia and member of the Interuniversity Institute for Local Development, Joan Romero.
El segundo día, el evento se trasladará al Espai Lluís Vives, donde se llevará a cabo el fórum empresarial ‘Arrels’. Este espacio estará dedicado a las empresas comprometidas con el territorio y la sostenibilidad ambiental. La apertura del foro será a las 10:30 horas con la participación confirmada del director general de Relaciones Informativas de la Generalitat Valenciana, Pere Rostoll; el presidente de la Asociación de la Prensa Comarcal Valenciana (APCV), Santiago Sanchis; el presidente del Círculo Empresarial de la Marina Alta (CEDMA), Benito Mestre; y la directora de ESG (environmental, social and governance) de Baleària, Lydia del Canto. La programación continúa a las 10:45 horas con un diálogo sobre ‘Empresas familiares y empresas de comunicación en el territorio’, en el que participarán el director de la Cátedra Empresa Familiar de la Universidad de Valencia, Alejandro Escrivà, y el director del periódico Levante-EMV (1987-1998 y 2008-2013) y promotor de las delegaciones comarcales, Ferran Belda, y estará moderado por la directora del periódico digital villenense Portada.info, Mariví Pardo.
Más tarde, a las 11:35 horas de la mañana, se podrá asistir a la sesión ‘El compromiso con el territorio’, en la que conversarán representantes de Caixa Ontinyent, la empresa de energía neta y sostenible EnerHi y la naviera Baleària, actuando como moderador Luis Peidro, director de El Nostre Ciutat, periódico de Alcoy. A las 12:30 horas comenzará el diálogo sobre ‘Perdurabilidad y fidelidad de un proyecto empresarial’ que mantendrán representantes de las empresas Rolser, Aquaclean Group y Unión Alcoyana, moderado por el director de Revista Poble (Vila-reial), Juanjo Clemente. La entrega de reconocimientos y clausura está prevista a las 14:00, con la participación del consejero de Economía Sostenible, Sectores Productivos, Comercio y Trabajo, Rafael Climent.
