29 September 2016 - 15: 01

Last summer he began in the Department of Health Dénia to be taught Heart School, a bi-weekly workshops that help both people who have suffered heart disease and their families to better understand the problems and improve their habits to avoid risks.

According to the cardiologist at the Dénia Hospital, Dr. Ana Rodríguez-Argüeso is having extraordinary results; "especially in terms of patient satisfaction, since after the sessions, you feel more confident knowing the causes of your ischemic episode and how to avoid it. It also improves adherence to treatments, since they are more aware of the importance of medication, such as statins, in the control of cholesterol or antiaggregants, which prevent thrombosis in patients who have just had an arterial stent implanted ".

For the doctor, the attendance of relatives to the workshops is fundamental "Since you must know what are forbidden foods. In addition, family members can help the patient to abandon toxic habits, such as tobacco and alcohol, and accompany him in the practice of a moderate exercise two or three times a week".
