All professionals have come to work wearing purple clothes today, they have been Dr. Mariano Martín-Macho, supervisor of nursing in the Physiotherapy Unit, and Dr. Ana María Morote, Director of the Clinical Area of Primary Care and External Patient, responsible for giving voice to the staff with the reading of a manifesto.

Dr. Morote recalled that only in Spain, during the year 2015, 57 women were murdered for sexist violence. For his part, Mariano Martín-Macho stressed that Marina Salud is promoting different initiatives to reconcile work and family life "as a socially responsible company in terms of gender equality."

After reading, hospital workers have released purple balloons as a symbol of equal opportunities.

Marina Health is currently working on implementing its second Equal Opportunity Plan, ensuring the monitoring of standards of gender equality in labor relations. Notably, the 70% of the workforce are women, meeting parity in both positions of responsibility as middle management.

Marina Salud has also promoted initiatives to facilitate the reconciliation of work and family life among its professionals, such as the extension of the lactation permit, paternity leave or monthly assistance granted to families, thanks to the so-called nursery check.
