The cinema in short filled the gardens of Torrecremada on the first day of the Riurau Film Festival 2018
El Riurau Film Festival It started last Saturday, 1 September, in the gardens of the Torrecremada Park in Dénia. Absolutely full to enjoy a short film night in which the films of the General Fiction section were screened and some prizes were awarded.
After the rest, the award appointment took place Talent Riurau 2018, presented by the producer Rubén Soler, who relapsed this first time in the young actress, director, producer and singer from Valencia Olga Alamán, holder of several awards. Alamán received the prize visibly moved and thanked the cultural work of the festival, increasingly necessary to prepare the society of the future.
The projections continued with the films on Gender Equality, the theme chosen this year for the Social Thematic section.
Awards
José Ramón Cardona, director of the festival and the jury, formed by the Madrid production company Ana Carrera López, by the president of the Cine Club Pessic of Dénia, Romualdo Soler Doménech, and by Anna Perles Avellá, president of the Associaciò Escola de Cinema Riurau, delivered the prizes of the day.

- Best Short Fiction Social Fiction-Gender Equality: Humberto Vallejo for Chanel
- Best Art Direction: Alejandro Damiani and Julio Gómez for MAMMON
- Best Mounting: Eoin McGuirk for Gridlock

Out of competition in the festival, the prizes of the Escola de Cinema Riurau-Dénia were awarded to:
- Escola De Cinema Riurau Award from Dénia a About Us by Yolanda Medina.
- Special Mention ECRR of Dénia a ZAS! of Beli de Piero and Barbara Pitov.
The Riurau Film Festival resumes this Friday, 7 in September, in Jesús Pobre with the International Dance Film Encounter, a round table on LGTBI issues and the screening of the films of Dance, LGTBI and Riurau Express.
On September 14 and 15, the festival moves to Xàbia with the screenings of the bulk of general fiction and the shorts of the Escola de Cinema Riurau de Xàbia.
