The City Council presents the roadmap for the Youth of Dénia, La Xara and Jesús Pobre
The mayor, Vicent Grimalt, and the Councilor for Youth, Juan Sapena, presented today, Thursday November 17, the I Youth Plan for Dénia.
The design of the project has been carried out through interviews and surveys of the young population (from 12 to 30 years old) of Dénia, La Xara and Jesús Pobre, to which 428 people responded. The plan has been drawn up with the collaboration of other departments such as Education, Sports, Housing and Employment, among others, and the municipalities of La Xara and Jesús Pobre, as well as youth organizations in the region. The plan is a roadmap with activities, programs and services to be developed in a 5-year view.
According to the document itself, the main objective is for young people to have an active participation in the Dianense public scene. For this reason, one of the guiding threads of the local plan is the integration effort and the fight for tolerance of all realities (ethnic, sexual, economic, gender, etc.). The document includes the need to implement specific programs to meet the needs of young people (for example, consultations on sexuality, talks to promote healthy lifestyles and resources to encourage social life in public spaces). .
In presenting the plan, the mayor commented on the importance of integrating youth into public life, always promoting their development and understanding the precarious situation they are experiencing.
Along the same lines, Sapena has highlighted the intention of the council to improve services and activities. In his words, he understands this plan as "a work tool and opportunity for the empowerment of the youth of our city." He has outlined that this "is not a political plan, but a plan for the citizenry" that complements the current Childhood plan.
The text will go to plenary session for review and approval this month, after having been delivered to the groups of the municipal Corporation so that they can make contributions.
The plan includes periodic reviews of the results; Studies will be carried out annually to find out the effectiveness of the actions with a view to drafting a second youth plan.
