Education ensures that twin brothers and sisters have a place in the Community in the same educational center
The Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports has prepared regulations so that twin brothers and sisters have a guaranteed place in the same educational center from the next academic year.
This measure will already be established when the admission procedure for the coming year opens, a procedure that is especially important for families who enroll their sons and daughters for the next year for the first time in 3-year-old Infants, in the classrooms Free 2-year CEIPs and in nursery schools owned by the Generalitat for 0-3 years.
According to the Minister of Education, Vicent Marzà, "this measure is very beneficial and provides a solution to the demands of families with children born from multiple births. In addition, we have configured it to streamline the process further, so when choosing your preferences for educational centers, it will be processed with a single application that includes the twin children.
A modification will be established for Decree 40/2016 which regulates admission to public and private concerted schools that teach Early Childhood Education, Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate.
In the regulations, it will be added that students born from multiple births will be valued as an application that will fill as many vacancies as there are born from multiple births, provided that the father, mother or legal guardian so requests. In the event that any of the members of the multiple birth meets the requirements to access a place reserved for students with special educational needs, the educational Administration will adopt the necessary measures, for special reasons, so that the admission is carried out jointly.
It should be remembered that the submission of applications for electronic admission in Infant and Primary will be from May 25 to June 2, and enrollment, from July 1 to 16. The publication of vacancies will be made on May 24.
