26 December 2019 - 16: 50

In less than 24 hours, two boats have been located in the Marina Alta region with people on board. The last one has been towed by the Salvamar boat to the port of Xàbia just a few minutes ago, at about 16:30 pm on Thursday, December 26. In it, 12 men have been found, all in good health, although only one has had to be treated by the Jávea Red Cross toilets due to dizziness.

The patera has been located 13 miles from Cabo de la Nao, from where it has been towed by Maritime Rescue. This is about 6 meters long. Upon arrival at the port of Xàbia, Civil Guard, Local Police and Jávea Red Cross agents were waiting.

The other patera was located this morning in Calpe. There were 17 migrants, one of them minor and they have been treated by the Red Cross in the Civil Guard headquarters of this town. But these have not been the only boats found in recent days since in other towns along the coast of Alicante and the Balearic Islands they have intercepted more migrants.
