Decrease more than 50% services for domestic violence in Dénia

The Local Police of Dénia has made public its report of 2012 actions from which the most relevant data regarding police actions are extracted in the areas of police assistance, administrative police, road safety and citizen security.

The councilor for the area, Javier Ygarza, highlighted that last year interventions decreased by 6,73% compared to 2011, reaching a total of 11.762. In 2012 there were 100 members of the Local Police who worked in Dénia, five more than the previous year, although it should be noted that the population has decreased from 46.800 to 45.100 inhabitants in one year.

Among all the interventions, the councilor wanted to highlight the more than significant decline in services for gender violence offered by the Artemis group, which has gone from 387 in 2011 to 157 in 2012, with 19 arrests.

In contrast, there has been an increase in interventions for theft and drug retail, which have gone from 223 2011 to 636 to 2012 in. According to the councilman, this increase is especially marked by interventions by counterfeit clothing and accessories in the area.

As for traffic accidents in 2012 they have fallen 4,36%, to 766, 14 of which were serious accidents involving 47 high rates of alcohol; 22 for crimes against road safety, 171 with minor injuries and a majority, 257 in which only material damage were recorded.

Ygarza also wanted to highlight effective information campaigns that the local police have been conducted in schools on road safety, gender violence or pyrotechnics.
