Sixteen Creative Cities of Gastronomy confirm their participation in the D * NA Gastronomic Festival

Sixteen of the eighteen Creative Cities of UNESCO's Gastronomy in the world, plus Dénia, which will serve as host, will participate in the D * NA Gastronomic Festival to be held on the beach of the Marineta Cassiana on the weekend of the 30 of September and 1 of October.

Such is the importance of the festival that will serve as a framework for the UNESCO Meeting of Creative Cities of Gastronomy with the majority presence of chefs from the cities of Popayán (Colombia), Tucson (United States), Belém (Brazil), Tsuruoka ), Chengdu (China), Shunde (China), Macau (China), Florianópolis (Brazil), Parma (Italy), Östersund (Sweden), Bergen (Norway), Rasht (Iran), Zahlé (Lebanon), Gaziantep ), Jeonju (South Korea), Ancorada (Mexico), and Phuket (Thailand).

This festival thus confirms the international vocation with which it was born and that will put Dénia even more on the map of the world gastronomy, and that will be a reality thanks to the support of the Agència Valenciana del Turisme. Dénia has been visited by the regional tourism secretary, Francesc Colomer, on Tuesday to make the signing of this agreement with the City of Denia a reality.

In total 190.000 euros will be allocated to the celebration of this important festival in which chefs such as Joan Roca, Jordi Cruz, Ángel León or Andoni Luis Aduriz will meet, and will be curated by chef Quique Dacosta. Together with them, producers and restaurateurs from Dénia and the region will show their products in more than 30 positions that will be distributed throughout the entire walk.

For Colomer, this event is part of the interesting and powerful tourist story that is being developed by Dénia, a city that "look to the future with optimism" And what brand "a new awakening". For the regional secretary of tourism, thanks to this type of events, "Dénia plants the innovation capitality flag", And helps "Dénia's perception of the world is more innovative and creative".

Francesc Colomer stated, during the signing of the agreement, that "If there is a space that identifies the values ​​of the Mediterranean, it is Dénia".

The mayor and tourism councilor, Vicent Grimalt, was present at the signing of this agreement; the councilor delegated the project of Creative City of Gastronomy, Pepa Font; the director of the CDT, Pepe Vidal; the presidents of Aehtma, Cristina Sellés, and CEDMA, Sonja Dietz; and councilors Rafa Carrió and Paco Roselló.
