The National Police have arrested a Dutch fugitive in Xàbia who fled to Spain to avoid serving a 5-year prison sentence for drug trafficking crimes, economic and financial crimes and crimes against public trust for fraud, fraud and forgery.

It all started when the Judicial Police Brigade of Alicante learned that the fugitive could be hiding in the town so they focused the investigations in their vicinity, achieving last August's 27 day to locate and arrest the fugitive from justice.

The arrested person was allegedly part of a criminal organization that was engaged in the cultivation, transportation and sale of amphetamine. The Dutch authorities link him to trafficking in an amphetamine batch of 113 kilos.

The detainee is a man of 49 years and Dutch nationality, who was placed at the disposition of the Central Court acting as National Audience Guard in order to carry out the extradition process.
