They spend more than 60.000 euros for the improvement of the Occupational Center of La Xara

The disabled community of Marina Alta are in luck, since their claims begin to be heard. After the launch of work on the new Day Center in La Xara, the Department of Equality and inclusive policies will allocate 60.379 euros for the renovation and improvement of the Occupational Center for people with intellectual functional diversity, to be held at throughout this year.

This was announced by the General Director of Functional Diversity, Antonio Raya, in a meeting held with the Councilor for Welfare of the Denia City Council, Cristina Morera and representatives of AMADEM, an NGO for Mental Health Marina Alta, to discuss the current situation of resources for people with functional diversity and severe mental disorders in this region and the performance of preventive actions.

The truth is that, with the implementation of the Day Center on the adjacent plot to the Occupational Center, will be necessary to share facilities such as the kitchen or passing places. Ana María Vadillo, president of Aprosdeco, an organization that currently manages the Occupational Center, said during the visit of Raya to the works of the day center the Occupational Center needs improvement in the kitchen or on the floors of the bathrooms, among other things.

Opening a CRIS in Dénia

During the meeting the cooperation project with the city of Denia for the opening of a Center for Rehabilitation and Social Integration (CRIS) for people with severe mental disorder as well as the implementation of programs of regional coverage mental health was also treated with AMADEM participation entity.
