Landslides in the old part of the town cemetery

The municipal cemetery of Dénia has some areas that are in serious deterioration. In fact, the Municipal Government Board had to approve on Wednesday the contracting of improvement works in the oldest part with a budget of 31.907 euros. Councilor Vicente Chelet has indicated that "there had been some landslides" and that therefore the work had to be undertaken "urgently".

Chelet, in the press conference on the governing board, said in turn, that the recruitment file for the creation of the playground that will be located on the site of Miguel Hernandez Avenue where a center had previously been designed of health. The park will occupy about 150 square meters over the total of the land.

Another issue is the approved security plan of works of the municipal sports center. They have started this week and is expected to run out before the Mini Olympic Jocs Marina Alta next May 15.

The Law of Coasts, from 100 to 20 meters

The spokesperson for the governing board has also advanced that in the Urban Planning information commission to be held next week a report will be presented requesting the Provincial Coastal Directorate to modify the current 100-meter protection easement in some areas of Les Marines and set it at 20 meters. To get the approval of the modification, it is necessary to prove that the land in these sections was consolidated as urban in 2/3 before the Coastal Law came into force in July 1988. If the municipal plenary session in April approves submitting the request, the Ministry of the Environment will have 18 months to process the file and resolve.
