The Department of Health of Dénia celebrates its "III World Breastfeeding Week"

The Department of Health of Denia will celebrate, next Tuesday 3 of October, its III World Breastfeeding Week Conference, an event celebrated when the forty-first week of the year is celebrated, which is when breastfeeding begins after pregnancy.

The day, to be held in The House of Paraula, will boot 16: 30 with a family photo of lactating women, "tetada". The aim of the meeting is to extend and normalize breastfeeding, to report on its benefits and to dispel doubts to women who are breastfeeding their children.

The inauguration of the meeting will be in charge of the Managing Director of the Department of Health of Dénia -DSD-, Luis Carter; accompanied by the Commissioner of the Department, Juan Puig. The Pediatrician and President of the Breastfeeding Commission, Marta Sánchez, will give the inaugural speech, which will follow a round table in which the attendees will be able to intervene to clear questions about any issue related to infant feeding.

The round table, moderated by the Head of the Department of Pediatrics, Josep Mut, will be formed by the midwife, Dora Monfort; the Pediatrician of the Calp Health Center, Pilar Suárez; the Dietitian-nutritionist, Mar Tortosa; the nurse of the Pediatrics plant of the Hospital of Dénia, Laura Cervera and the nursing mothers Zaida Signes and Vera Zaragozà; the latter from the support group for breastfeeding Nodrissa.

The day will end with a keynote by the pediatrician Luis Santos, who will make a journey on the changes in infant feeding during the last three decades.
