Conselleria de Sanitat, as every Tuesday, has published updated data on coronavirus infections by municipalities and health departments, taking into account the interventions carried out by the latter during the weekend.

In this new update a bit of light is glimpsed at the end of the tunnel. Finally the figures are notably better than those lived since the Christmas holidays began. The coronavirus, now it can be said, remits in the Dénia health department, on which the entire region depends.

The Marina Alta has registered 301 new positives since Friday, the lowest figure since mid-December. However, of the 8.969 positive cases since the pandemic started in the area, 1.168 are still active, which still leaves it with a worrying incidence of 680,09 infections per 100.000 inhabitants. Of course, each day this rate is reduced at a good rate.

The negative data comes back in the death toll, as the region adds 6 new deaths with coronavirus, one of them in Dénia.

In the capital of the Marina Alta, the new cases are finally descending at a rate similar to that of the region. Only 90 positives have been added this weekend, the lowest figure since December 25 and the first time this year that it is less than a hundred. Of the 2.868 infections that have occurred since last March, 325 remain active. Therefore, the incidence of Dénia is reduced to 770,76, still higher than that of the entire department.

The third wave seems to be finally subsiding. Now the goal is not to forget the experience (for the third time) and not to cause a new wave of coronavirus. Is the fourth time the charm?
