Dénia returns to classes: «The new year begins with great enthusiasm, despite all the difficulties»

08 September 2021 - 09: 52

The Councilor for Education, Melani Ivars, gave yesterday the figures for the new course: in the schools and institutes of Dénia, La Xara and Jesús Pobre, 3.372 boys and girls from Infant and Primary, and 1.772 Secondary students return to class this week.

To prepare the schools for the welcome, the City Council has worked during the summer on the maintenance actions requested by the centers. The painting of the façade of the Cervantes, the change of the parquet floor of the Les Vessanes gym and the music room of the Cervantes, the renovation of the floor, walls and lighting of the Children's classroom of Llebeig, the conditioning and painting of the Aula Natura del Montgó o the reform of the door of one of the Raquel Payá toilets to adapt it to the special needs of one of the students, are some examples of a list of more than 150 maintenance and improvement works of the schools assumed by the council.

Also, the councilor stressed that the City Council will also maintain this course the reinforcement of cleaning staff: a person 4 hours in the morning to insist on the disinfection of railings, toilets and other common elements.

The boys and girls who return to classes will also find, on the way to school, the new signage for pedestrian crossings adapted to people with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), already present in school areas.
