The city of Dénia dressed up on Saturday to kick off the long-awaited Fallas 2023 festivities. The festive atmosphere was felt from early afternoon in the streets of the city, where the falleros and falleras gathered to participate in the Crida with which his fallas program officially begins.
The emotion reached its peak with the proclamation of Juan Céspedes Garrido, who highlighted the importance of keeping the Fallas tradition alive and the role that this festival plays in Dianense society.
After the proclamation, from the balcony of the Town Hall, the senior fallera, Aida Gavilà Gómez, and the senior child fallera, Noa Dacosta Mud, welcomed everyone present and received the keys to the city, symbolizing the start of the festivities. After this, a spectacular fireworks display lit up the Dénia sky with an impressive explosion of colours.
To culminate the night, the falleros and falleras enjoyed the traditional Sopar del Germanor, which was held in the Torrecremada tent. Music, food and drink put the finishing touch to a day that kicked off some Fallas that promise to be unforgettable.
