Dénia exceeds 80% hotel occupancy during the fallas

The coincidence of the fallas of 2017 with the weekend and a bridge in communities such as Madrid has led to the city of Dénia exceeding 80% in hotel establishments. Specifically, according to data collected by the Department of Tourism of the City Council of Dénia through a survey of tourist accommodation in the city, tourist occupancy during the Fallas period has been between 84% and 85% in hotel establishments.

Being a short period of time, occupation focuses on hotels. It is noteworthy that this year's data show an increased influx in 8,5% over last year to register the sellout in several of the establishments.

16 19 to the March, a total of 1.635 people have visited municipal offices Tourist Information located in the Plaza del Oculista Buigues (central office) and in the Plaza del Consell. This indicates an average of about 409 daily attentions. 48,5% of the visitors were of domestic origin and 51,5% of international origin.

Of total tourists / domestic visitors, 58% came from the Community of Madrid, the 11% of the rest of Valencia and 7% approximately of Catalonia, followed by Extremadura (4%), Basque Country (almost 4%) and local visitors (almost 4%).

Of the total international visitors, the 40% came from France, followed by an 24% from the United Kingdom and almost an 15% from Germany, followed by the Netherlands (almost an 8%) and Belgium (5%).

They have outstanding requests for information about the holidays (one 39% of the total), followed by the request of the local travel information (28%), cultural activities (15%) and information surrounding (almost 10%).
