Dénia request that the EOI offering courses in Spanish for foreigners

The full council of Dénia to be held on Thursday March 30 approve the request for the Official Language School (EOI) offering courses in Spanish for foreigners. This proposal, put to the Council by the Association for Foreign Residents SeniorennetzwerkIt has already been transferred to the Consell as a formal request by Councilman Education.

This meeting, held last March 13, was attended by all political parties with representation in the city of Dénia, with the exception of the Popular Party and Citizens.

In this month's plenary session, Councilor Óscar Mengual will request the support of the political groups for this request and send their agreement to the General Directorate of Language Policy and Multilingualism Management of the Department of Education, Research, Culture and Sports.

At the moment the proposal has the support of the councilors of Podemos, Antonio Losada and Alexander Rodenkirchen. The latter states that «es una medida integradora, de convivencia, intercambio lingüístico y promoción cultural que sería beneficiosa para toda la ciudadanía, teniendo en cuenta que los residentes de origen extranjero suponen alrededor de un 30 % de la población de la Marina Alta».
