Dénia joins the manifesto of the World Tourism Day bringing together all professionals involved in the sector

As was done in 2014, Dénia joined the World Tourism Day manifesto with its reading on the port promenade by the president of Aehtma, Cristina Sellés.

The port promenade hosted a simple act in which representatives of Aehtma, Cedma, tourism department, Marina de Dénia, Real Club Náutico and hospitality companies gathered, who first heard the message of the mayor and councilor of tourism, Vincent Grimalt.

The mayor stressed that "As a tourist destination that we are, we have, on the one hand the responsibility of managing this activity every day, and at the same time, the pleasure of being hosts of a large number of tourists who place in us the confidence of choosing us as a destination to enjoy his free time".

Then spoke the president of Aehtma, Cristina Sellés, who read the manifesto of the World Tourism Day in which the Secretary of the General Tourism Organization, Taleb Rifai, commitment "celebrate the tourism transformation potential". And, currently, more than one billion tourists crossing borders worldwide, making tourism "an economic sector of the first magnitude".

According to the manifesto, "Tourism has a global reach, being a sector to which one of every eleven jobs is attributed"Assuming "a valuable source of livelihood for millions of people worldwide". It also stresses that "It is a way to understand the world, the first step to consolidate peace between communities and nations".

Precisely to talk about tourism, the mayor and councilor of the area, Vicent Grimalt, traveled to Valladolid last Wednesday. Grimalt participated in the general assembly of the Spanish Association of Destinations for the Promotion of Gastronomic Tourism with several national and international entities.

During the meeting it was agreed that the city of Valladolid renew its position in the presidency of the association and presented the work plan for next year.

To Grimalt, this assembly has been a good opportunity to learn more about tourism and know how to act in this regard other populations.
