Dénia pays homage to the first portfolios in the history of the city

On Saturday 9 in March, the City Council of Dénia celebrated the institutional act of the International Women's Day of 2019. This year the municipal corporation honored Antonia Bolufer Pradas, Inmaculada Vidal Luengo, Consolation Cedeño Romero, Margarita Roselló Fornés and Teresa Tur Fornés, who were the first women who worked in the distribution unit of the State Post and Telegraph Services in Dénia at the end of the year. from the decade of the eighties.

Before the tribute was read the institutional statement by representatives of the Council of Les Dones de Dénia: Association of housewives Dénia, Matria Association of Women, Women's Center of the Generalitat Valenciana and the Associated Center of the UNED.

In the turn of interventions the director of the unit of the State Service of Post and Telegraph in Dénia, José Argudo, stressed that after 30 years since the incorporation of women in the cast are now more women than men, today they are 8 men and 12 women.

For her part, Margarita Roselló pointed out that "Today there is a greater proportion of women than men in the staff of Dénia, and this is a reflection throughout our company. It is true that more women are missing who want to take up positions of responsibility, but in Correos everything is possible. I I started distributing, I have been a portfolio in Girona, responsible for Distribution in the Canary Islands, Director of the Office of Lanzarote, and currently since 2005, I am responsible for training the Valencian Community, Murcia and the Balearic Islands, nobody has given me anything, but I have given had all possibilities open ". And he also stressed that "feminism is not about going against man, it is about matching concepts and situations".

Antonia Bolufer stressed that "We are aware that in the business world there is still some discrimination and we do not want to forget all the workers who do not yet have the same rights as us. We hope that these celebrations are not necessary in the future, so that equality is a reality".
