Dénia notably reduces its contagion trend in the last update

04 September 2020 - 10: 22

The Ministry of Health, like every Friday, updates the coronavirus data again based on the PCR tests carried out during the previous three days, from Tuesday to Thursday. In this sense, we know that the Dénia Health Department, on which the entire Marina Alta depends, has once again registered a high number of infections this week.

According to data from Sanitat, the Dénia Health Department already reaches 794 infections since the pandemic began, after adding 122 in this update. This is finally a lower figure than in the last data release, when 137 were added, the record to date.

Again, the city that registers most of these positives, almost half, is Dénia. The capital of the Marina Alta adds 58 new cases, a low figure compared to the last two updates. However, this has not been able to prevent the cumulative incidence rising slightly to 535'98 infections per 100.000 inhabitants in the last two weeks, influenced above all by the high figures of the previous 7 days.

On the other hand, it is important to highlight the high number of new Calp infections, all of them caused by an outbreak of holiday origin that has affected 19 people, as reported yesterday by Sanitat.

Now, the worst news is the death of two people positive for coronavirus and registered in Dénia after having completed 4 months last Friday without any fatality. In total, there are already 21 residents of the region positive for COVID-19 who have lost their lives since the start of the pandemic, 8 of them from Dénia.
