Dénia launches an urgent and special device to restore normality on beaches affected by the storm

Since the early hours of the morning the departments of environment and beaches of the City of Denia are working on an initial assessment of the damages that have suffered the beaches of the municipality to launch an urgent and special device to restore normality on the beaches Affected by the storm of the last days.


 
In this first visit has been possible to verify the damages and the lack of sand in the streets that give access to the beach. For this reason, the special device put in place by the City Council intends to provide these posts with sand in the coming days. At the foot of the beach has also been verified that there are 20 footbaths that have been uneven due to the rain and the storm, according to information from the beaches department, the Valencian Tourism Agency has already entrusted the work of replacing these footpads that have undergone unevenness .
 
A total of 4 access walkways to the beach have been damaged. This morning the concessionaire company for cleaning the beaches had already put the footbridge of the Marineta Casina beach in place and it is expected that in the next few hours the problem of the footbridges affected by the storm will be solved.
 
Regarding the amount of seaweed and dirt that the sea has taken to the beach in the rain and wind storm on Wednesday and Thursday, the concessionaire company has already begun to remove this garbage from the sea. Due to exceptional, the company has expanded the workforce by hiring 5 more workers and has expanded from 5 to 8 the number of clean beaches machines that will act urgently on the 20 km of coast that has the municipal district of Denia. Throughout the weekend they will remove the algae and will inform the amount of seaweed on the seashore that has generated the storm.
 
Other damage to the beach caused by the storm has been the guardhouse on Calle Río Cervol at the height of the Almadraba beach, which has suffered damage in its entirety and the surveillance post located on the beach of Las Marinas at the height of the Bona Platja restaurant.

At 12: 00 hours the rain alert has been withdrawn in Denia and Marina Alta.
