Mario Vidal, representative of the municipal group of Gent de Dénia in the Consell de la Dona held last Thursday, proposed to pay tribute on International Women's Day on March 8, 2021, to the four women who were councilors in the first city council of the transition. This was approved by the Council unanimously by those present.

Mari Ángeles Colomer, Concha Noguera, Tere Villó and Paulina Silvestre were those brave women who at the end of the 70s, in a world of men, rose to the occasion, being coherent and responsible with their ideas. They began to work for Dénia, without complexes, with dedication and dedication, earning the respect of the people and of a society that was changing at a dizzying rate.

The Department of Equality of the City of Dénia, has willingly accepted the agreement as well as the organization of the act of tribute that will be held and that, given the current circumstances, it is not expected as massive as on other occasions, "but surely the first councilors of our democracy will have the recognition they deserve", points out the training that the tribute has undertaken. Gent de Dénia has offered to collaborate in everything that is within their reach, as promoters of the idea.
