Dénia plans to build a playground on the site of the Avenida Miguel Hernández. In 2007 the former socialist city government expropriated the land with the intention of building a new health center. The project could not be launched because the Health Department refused. Since they are empty.

The spokesman for the local government board, Vicente Chelet, explained this Friday that the City Council has approved the works to adapt the site. These consist of making the concrete slab and then placing the playground that has rubber rubber. The park material, such as swings, etc., will also have to be counted. In total, the budget amounts to 13.751 euros plus VAT.

The planning councilor also pointed out that the playground will not take the whole lot, since the total area of around 4.000 square meters. And he said that this type of installation is "very demanded in the area".

Tranforma solar in residential land to sell

Chelet also revealed that the General Structural Plan, which is now being exposed to the public for the second time, transforms the site of Miguel Hernández from a dotacional to a residential estate. In this way, if the PGE is approved, the City could put it on sale.

It should be noted that the City has been recently sentenced to pay 6 million euros to the former owners of the site. This figure is what remained to pay the total 10 million euros that the socialist mayor Paqui Viciano agreed in 2007.

The Town Planning also advanced that there is an agreement in principle with the former owners through a new proposal which has not yet been signed. Michelet said it was still negotiating the payment in several years.
