→ The Festivities of the Santíssima Sang de Dénia throughout history
→ Full program of Dénia Festivals
The long-awaited Festivities of Dénia are already just around the corner, so the Dénia City Council has taken the opportunity to announce what will be the Santíssima Sang program for this 2022. It will be the reunion of the neighbors with the festivities of the old normality, after carrying out an applauded agenda last year, instead, more focused on cultural events.
Once again, the concerts, the floats, the castles of fires and correfocs, the festive entrance of Moors and Christians, and also, with controversy, the Bous a la Mar. In other words, the Festa Major of a lifetime is back. Although with a great novelty, it will be the first Festivals that will bring together three quintas.
As announced by the Councilor for Festivities, Óscar Mengual, to the media on Monday afternoon, we will once again see the rocket announcing the start of the Santíssima Sang Festivities, which will bring together hundreds of people in Marqués de Campo for the first entry of bulls on July 9. The night before, as has been the tradition, the XX edition of the FIC 2022 Intergenerational Song Festival will take place.
The Bous a la Mar will return in the semicircular square of the port of Dénia, without any news regarding past editions. There will usually be two passes, in the morning and in the afternoon, and tickets will be held through Marqués de Campo and the port on Saturday 9, Monday 11 and Friday 15.
Live concerts are usually the highlight of the festivals of the municipalities. On this occasion, the Dianense stage will host the artist Antonio Orozco, on Friday 15 at 22:00 p.m. on the Torrecremada esplanade, as the main bet, assuring Mengual that a "titanic effort" has been made. Of course, it will be paid, costing €20 tickets.
But it will not be the only concert. It also highlights the program of the stage that will be located in the Plaza del Consell, where Judit Neddermann will go up, on Sunday 10, and Xavi Sarrià, on Monday 11.
The floats will have their expected return on Saturday 16, which will return to the streets of Dénia when three years have passed since the last time they paraded. The Moors and Christians will also have their moment, celebrating the festive entree on Friday the 15th.
The program will close, as usual, the pyrotechnic show that will take place on the esplanade of Torrecremada.
In addition, the City Council has announced that, after consulting the young people who were unable to celebrate their year of fifths due to the pandemic, they have decided to combine the last three fifths (2002, 2003 and 2004). All of them will coexist and participate in absolutely all the events. Between the three there will be more than 600 fifths to liven up the 2022 Festa Major.
