Dénia hosts a European meeting on innovation and sustainability in the marine environment and traditional fishing

The Dénia Castle Hall will host a meeting of the European fishing project EU-FIN European Union Fishing Network on Thursday, May 7. It so happens that Dénia, together with Mazarrón (Murcia), are the only Spanish towns that are part of this project in which ten countries join: Spain, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Serbia, Macedonia, Cyprus, Albania, Portugal and Montenegro.

The project is divided into four annual meeting place for the sharing of experiences and best practices related to fisheries issues. After the first meeting of 2015, held in Ravenna (Italy), Dénia hosts the second meeting will focus on sustainability and innovation in the marine environment and traditional fishing.

The day will begin at 9.15:9 a.m., with a welcome from the Mayor, Ana Kringe, and the Councilor for Agriculture and Fisheries, Sisco Signes. The presentations will begin at 50:XNUMX with the participation of experts from the University of Alicante, the Sicilian Zooprophylactic Experimental Institute, the Valencia Oceanographic and Greenpeace. For his part, Jesús Crespo Caudeli, a fisherman from the Denia Brotherhood, will present the main problems of traditional fishing in our area.
