Dénia hosts the presentation of the tourist route "100 castles on the Costa Blanca"

The Hall Dénia Castle hosted on Monday morning presentation of the tourist trail 100 Castles Costa BlancaCreated by the Provincial Tourism on the Costa Blanca and the support of the Institute for Tourism Research at the University of Alicante.

The president of the council, César Sánchez, accompanied by the deputy provincial tourism promotion, Eduardo Dolón, presented at the foot of the main historical icon of the city a route that brings together a selection of the 100 most important castles in the Costa Blanca divided into five different routes covering a total of 60 alicantinos municipalities.

Eduardo Dolón explained that this route aims seasonally adjusted tourism, while to focus on the monumental heritage of the province and increase both visits as the best positioning in the province of Alicante tourist level.

The president of the council, meanwhile, said that since the Povincial body are especially strengthening both the architectural elements such as festivals and traditions of Alicante municipalities to enhance tourism in the province.

The Mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, was the host of the event, who recalled that the Dénia Castle receives more than 100.000 visits per year, becoming a tourist and historical landmark for the municipality.

Dénia is part of the route Frontier castles Fear, named for the fear of corsairs and the need to provide the coast with enclaves that set the population and avoid a hypothetical invasion. Next to Dénia, there are municipalities such as Xàbia, Calp, El Verger, Guadalest, Benidorm or Pego.

The remaining routes are the Vinalopó Castles, Which runs the monuments of cities such as Santa Pola, Elche, Villena or Castalla; the Castles Key to the Kingdom, A name assigned Pedri IV of Aragon to the stronghold of Alicante, which includes monuments in Alicante, Mutxamel, Busot, Aigües El Campello and; Castles Tudmir, In the Cox, Guardamar, Orihuela or Pillar Horadada; and finally the route Castle Mountain, Which includes the municipalities of Jijona, Onil, Alcoy, Cocentaina, Agres, Gallinera or Lorcha, among others.
