Dénia hosts the Second Conference on Prevention and Control of Legionellosis of the Marina Alta

Last Friday, February 6, the Marina Salud Hospital hosted the Second Legionellosis Prevention and Control Conference in the Marina Alta, a meeting organized by the Public Health Center attended by 170 professionals.

The day was inaugurated by the general director of Public Health of the Ministry of Health, Lourdes Monge, the manager of the Dénia Health Department, Ángel Giménez, and the director of the Dénia Public Health Center, Pascual Martí.

During the inauguration, Monge highlighted the important work of public health professionals in the control and detection of possible outbreaks of Legionnaires' disease. In this regard he announced that during 2015 6.500 over inspections will be conducted throughout the Region.

In this sense, Ángel Giménez for the importance of collaboration among public health professionals and Health to include Marina "prevent, detect and treat any case of legionella in the region".

The day was based on two main themes: the latest updates on the epidemiological surveillance and prevention and control regulations, as well as new technologies and control bacteria in large buildings.
