For decades many urban companies set their eyes on Dénia to undertake their projects and see, in this way, substantially increase their income. The capital of the Marina Alta had become the goose that laid the golden eggs of these companies, which began to bet on their land to build different buildings and urbanizations. Nobody wanted to be left without their little piece, so Dianense urbanism soon fell out of control, occupying practically the entire landscape of the municipality with cement and triggering average house prices.
With that starting point, À Punt walks the streets of Dénia to find out how this business affected, with consequences that continue to this day. In addition, the program visits other cases also in the Valencian Community, such as neighboring Xàbia, all of whom have experienced a similar situation.
"In the Alacant area, in the Marina Alta region, we will do an analysis of the uncontrolled urbanization process based on seasonality that has occurred for decades. We will start from specific cases in Dénia and Xàbia", says the presentation of the documentary.
