Dénia Red Cross opens the surveillance season facing a multiple rescue in Les Rotes

21 June 2020 - 09: 25

Yesterday began the season of surveillance and lifeguard on the beaches by the Red Cross Dénia. The NGO already has a long history at the forefront of the work, whose recognizable flags fly along the 20 km coastline of the capital of Marina Alta.

However, it cannot be said that it was an easy start. And not only because of the new security measures to combat the health crisis, although it is true that the permitted capacity limit had already been reached at Les Rotes by noon. It was right there, more specifically in Punta Negra, where the veteran concessionaire's responsiveness was tested.

As this medium has learned, the strong current of the sea that washed the southern dianense coast yesterday surprised two minors and an adult who were practicing paddle surf at that point. They were dragged inland and, despite their efforts, failed to reach the shore, moving further and further away from it.

Luckily, the surveillance team responded quickly, alerting the support boat with which they helped these bathers. Using it, they were returned to shore on time, so there was no need to regret further damage or resort to hospital transfer.

Also, on the Punta del Raset beach, the fainting of a woman set off alarms. But, after the checks and assistance of the Red Cross team that was there, they managed to leave everything in a scare.
