Consellería, "in talks" with Marina Salud due to the low rate of referral of county patients to La Pedrera

The Minister of Health, Manuel Llombart, visited yesterday in Dénia the facilities of the Acquired Brain Damage Unit of the Pedrera Hospital, the HACLE to which the chronically ill of the region should be referred but in 2012 only received 9 people from Marina Alta throughout the year of the 370 patients who passed through its facilities.

Asked about the low rate of referral of patients from the region to this hospital from the regional Hospital managed by the company Marina Salud, Llombart announced that his department is currently in talks with the company to find out what is the reason for this low rate of patients referred and seek a solution.

The protesters, a dozen of them, he wanted to get his manifesto but could not give it directly. According to the union representative, they recommended them to arrange an interview with the Minister to transfer their complaints and suggestions regarding the management of health in the region.

The protesters recalled that this week they were invited to leave the facilities of the Marina Health Hospital, where they placed a table for collecting signatures. Members of the hospital called the police to get them thrown out but the agents could not do it because the unionists were occupying a public place, outside the entrance to the outpatient clinics, and they were not doing anything for which they could be removed from that place .

Opposition calls for restricting contract with Marina Salud

Unit Acquired Brain Injury Dénia pioneer in the Region

Since its launch in December of 2011, the Acquired Brain Injury Unit of La Pedrera Hospital has registered more than 11.300 stays, which represents an 30% of the total activity of the health center. It is the first program of these characteristics that was launched in the Region, which currently has to be added that of San Vicent del Raspeig.

Pedrera Hospital beds 107 has four assistance programs offered: Palliative Care, convalescence, Extended Stay and Acquired Brain Injury, for which no program assigned 25 beds.

Unit acquired brain injury has a cabinet of Neuropsychology, rooms assessment and intervention Congnitiva facilities, occupational therapy facilities, speech therapy, and group and sports therapy, virtual rehabilitation, occupational workshops and Informatia, an area of ​​physiotherapy and gym and an area of ​​outpatient care for Neurorehabilitation.
