28 September 2022 - 16: 45

One more year, the Condemned to the Curb Association launches "A por la Inclusion", a project in which people with different abilities "work and "enjoy" with people who have circumstances similar to theirs, something that supposes a strong motivation for both.

The objective of the project is to facilitate the incorporation into the world of work of people with different abilities and to offer different activities to the group of functional diversity, and will be carried out from September 2022 to August 2023. In addition, six people with different abilities will be hired who will work together with a Special Education Teacher, two Graduates in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and several sports monitors.

'For inclusion'

Since 2013, the biomedical company Pfizer has collaborated with 23.000 euros, which the Adecco Foundation is in charge of managing. Both have an agreement with the dual purpose of offering support to social entities and promoting the social and labor integration of the functional diversity group. This collaboration allows the hiring of workers, who carry out their work a few hours a week, in the different projects carried out by the association in the town of Dénia: "We are capable", Municipal School of Adapted Sports of the Dénia City Council, "Sala Multisensory”, “We want to go out”, “Enjoying the Summer”, “We are equal, we are different” and “Talleres Tapis”.

The activities take place in the morning and afternoon, at the facilities of the IES Maria Ibars, Llunàtics of the Dénia City Council, the Raquel Payà school, Tapis de Dénia and the Dénia Yacht Club.

One of the workers is Mar, a volunteer and user of the association, with cerebral palsy, who performs administrative tasks, participates as a speaker in many conferences and gives talks and awareness workshops for different entities. Her participation helps to give visibility to the group.

'For inclusion'

The Department of Social Affairs and the Department of Sports of the Dénia City Council have collaborated from the beginning with the transfer of a van to move users, they have managed the Adapted Sports School of the Dénia City Council, and they give several facilities, without the which would be unfeasible to carry out the project. And we cannot forget the collaboration of many volunteers that Condenados has.
