Compromís presents its list and the first outlines of its program in a massive event in Dénia

Compromís already has a candidacy for Dénia: a list proposed to unite young promises and veteran personalities with extensive experience behind them. And that he has overwhelming support from his militancy, as they demonstrated during the presentation that took place on Monday night at the Casa de la Cultura. The room was filled to the brim to meet those who will represent them in the next 28M.

For the act they had great guests within the formation to show their support for the Dianense candidacy. Joan Baldoví, Imma Orozco and Gerard Fullana did not miss the appointment in which Rafa Carrió revealed his roadmap to become Mayor, as well as the team that will accompany him. The Compromís per Dénia list for the first time meets before the neighbors gathered for the occasion.

During the act discussed there was also time to recall the past, when the formation governed during the Pacte del Castell, between 2015 and 2017, together with the PSPV. A legislature that they defend as profitable and in which they complied with everything. "Others not so much," criticized Carrió.

"We went out to win so that Dénia wins"

In the act they defended the slogan that they have been repeating for a few months: they are not a complement, they are an alternative. And they go out to win. It is one of his slogans, but also a fact. The formation is going all out this May and they will not settle for a Castell 2.0 Pact. There may be agreements, and there will be when necessary. But after the current legislature, the ties with the PSPV are weaker due to, as they point out, the lack of dialogue and the abundance of rollers. "And the bad ways," they insist.

These forms pushed them into the opposition since 2019, when they received the offer of several minor councils and subordinated to others in the hands of the PSPV, which felt bad. Since then, they chose to be in front of the government, carrying out what according to the Valencian mayor has been "the only meaningful opposition."

But they assume that they are closer to the PSPV than to any force on the right, alluding on several occasions throughout the act to the policies that the Popular Party has carried out in recent years both in the Provincial Council and in the Generalitat.

First ideas of the future program

The Valencianistas offer, instead, to make many small changes that improve the lives of the people of Dénia. Or so they promise. Still without a program, but already showing snippets of its main points. They advocate ceasing the insistence on promoting tourism as the main engine of the local economy. Keep it, but focus efforts on promoting industry, agriculture and fishing to diversify the economy of the municipality. Likewise, its program will emphasize facilitating access to housing, shielding public services and working to increase employment.
