Compromís held 9 d'Octubre with protest speeches

The Compromís group held its act on October 9 on the sidelines of the official one, in Plaça Jaume I. This act brought together many supporters of this political group next to the statue of Jaume I.

After a few traditional dances by the Grup de Danses of Jesus Pobre, accompanied by the Colla Xirimiters of La Xara, the speeches began.

Josep Crespo, spokesman for Compromís and mayor of the Dénia town hall, commented, «en este día, en nuestra ciudad, encendemos con más fuerza que nunca, la luz del futuro. La luz del cambio en Dénia, la Marina y en el País, la luz que nos permitirá construir una sociedad más justa, valenciana y solidaria para todos los que viven en nuestras calles y barrios».

In his manifesto he was highly critical of the government team that until recently formed the Popular Party and the Center Unificat, «nosotros somos los que con más fuerza y contundencia hemos denunciado la incapacidad y los intereses personales de la pareja Ana Kringe y Pepa Font».

The second to address those present was the mayoral candidate in the next municipal elections, Rafa Carrió. His speech was marked by being electoralist, with hardly any mention of the commemoration of the Valencian Community Day.

Carrio criticism launched Dianense ajuntament management, «han sido unos años desastrosos, los que nos han impuesto los populares de Ana Kringe y su marca blanca, el Centre Unificat de Pepa Font. Que no se os olvide que al final son lo mismo, el Partido Popular».

He blamed the popular abandonment of citizens in crisis, with 5.000 standing in the city and throwing two questions, «¿Para quién ha gobernado Ana Kringe durante estos años? y ¿Qué beneficio hemos obtenidos los ciudadanos de su inexistente gestión?«.

Rafa Carrió said flatly, «no podemos permitir que el Partido Popular, vuelva a controlar el ajuntament, como si fuera su negocio. Redactando a escondidas un Plan General para beneficiar a sus amigos».

Finally he announced that «desde Compromís queremos un ayuntamiento para los vecinos, abierto a todos, por eso os pido que ahora escuchéis a todos y nos trasladéis sus inquietudes. Vamos a trabajar para devolver al pueblo lo que es del pueblo».

After a child parliaments held a wreath at the statue of Jaime I. The event closed with a performance of traditional dances by the group Dianium Dansa.
