August 07 from 2017 - 15: 31

Last week began the construction of the new bus station in Dénia that will replace the current one, in the Plaza Archiduque Carlos, on the José Moncho Ferrer street. The works have a maximum execution time of 6 months and a cost of 257.398,42 euros financed by the Productive Investment Plan (formerly Plan Confianza).

The first work consisted in clearing the parcel of parked vehicles, delimiting and eliminating the vegetation that existed to begin the first excavation work. In the plot, two zones of use will be created, one destined for parking area and bus traffic and the other destined to the users of the station with 8 platforms (platforms 7 and 8 will be used for minibuses), waiting zones and a Small temporary building with an office for sale of tickets with warehouse and another one destined to toilets to serve the users.

The new bus station will be located on a parcel of municipal property of 2.870 m2 located in the urban center in the area of widening, within an urban plot with wide orthogonal streets, regular blocks, next to buildings between medianeras with heights superior to that of draft. To date the plot was being used as parking. From the original plot 1.645,74 m2 will be used for the station, waiting area, and bus traffic area, leaving the rest with its original use.

Once this infrastructure is completed and the new station is in operation, the redevelopment works of the Archiduque Carlos Square will begin, which will become a pedestrian plaza with redistribution of traffic.

It should be remembered that the action in the plot on which it operates consists of the creation of a temporary bus station waiting for the approval of the new general plan to propose a new location.
