Computerized carts for the distribution of medication to patients in the Hospital

May 27 from 2016 - 13: 08

The Dénia Hospital has recently acquired computerized medication carts that allow immediate access to the electronic medical record of each patient. This new experience is bringing great advantages, both to patients and to the professionals themselves, since they allow us to know at all times what medications and what specific dose has been prescribed for each patient, being able to register at the moment so that any change is recorded in the history or supply.

According to the Coordinator of Hospitalization Nursing, Charo Ivars, "the fact that the information can be updated almost instantaneously not only speeds up and shortens the entire procedure but also reduces the margin of error regarding possible medication or patient confusion, increasing patient safety".

In addition to being safer, these trolleys are more manageable and reliable and are currently being used in the Hospitalization Unit, the Day Hospital and the Unit of Surgery No Income (UCSI) of the Marina Salud Hospital of Denia.
