Bruno Ruiz, of the restaurant Aticook of Dénia, wins the VII International Competition of Creative Cuisine of the Red Shrimp of Dénia

La Gamba -0º, from Dianense Bruno Ruiz, won the first prize of the VII International Creative Cuisine Contest of the Red Shrimp of Dénia that took place this Tuesday at the Municipal Market of Dénia. Thanks to the proposal Shrimp under 0º, red shrimp from Dénia with iced garum tomato powder and cold apple and celery soup, Ruiz has taken 2.500 euros, a sculpture by Toni Marí and a check worth 500 euros in equipment thanks to Gastroequipa.

After receiving the award, Bruno Ruiz has taken the floor to thank the recognition, which has dedicated especially to Pepe Cabrera, who died a few months ago, and who allowed him to be part and lead the project Aticook.

The second prize went to the plate (Prawn service) Gamba, Kale and Jerez, prepared by Juan Carlos Reyes Moreno, of the ABaC Restaurant from Barcelona. And the third prize winner was Álex Primo Robles for his recipe Denia red prawn soasada in its fruity marinade.

The eight finalists have started preparing their creations at the 9: 30 in the morning in the central part of the Municipal Market. From the 11: 30 hours, the students of the CDT have been in charge of serving each dish to the members of this year's jury, chaired by Julia Pérez Lozano, gastronomic critic and member of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy, which was accompanied by the three Michelin stars Quique Dacosta; Jesús Sánchez, restaurant chef Amós gazebo in Villaverde de Pontones (Cantabria); Fernando Pérez Arellano, chef of the Zaranda Restaurant (Madrid); Alberto Ferruz, chef de BonAmb Restaurant in Xàbia (Alicante); Raúl Resino from Raúl Resino Restaurant in Benicarló (Castellón); Miguel Ángel Mayor, chef of the restaurant Sucede in Valencia; Erlantz Gorostiza, head chef of the restaurant MB Hotel Ritz Carlton Abama (Tenerife); José Carlos Capel, gastronomic critic and member of the Royal Academy of Gastronomy and Alberto Granados, writer and journalist specialized in gastronomy.

Tribute to Rafa Soler

The organization of the contest has honored in this edition the director and creator of the contest, chef Rafa Soler, who was unaware of this recognition. The Mayor of Dénia, Vicent Grimalt, has summarized his intense career and has highlighted his dedication in this contest, which has made him worthy of this recognition.

An emotional Rafa Soler thanked the tribute and has had words of love for the contestants who have participated during the seven editions and for the members of the jury, "the real stars of this contest", He said.
