The Liga Suma starts with two golds for the Real Club Náutico Dénia
Last Sunday 17 of November took place the first regatta of the Rowing League. The Dénia Royal Yacht Club moved to Calp, with its four fixed bank rowing teams, to participate in this first test of the season.
The day, which threatened with a strong swell and wind, began with the participation of the female cadets, who led by Sara Sánchez achieved gold. The cadets, who debuted in this league format, faced unfavorable weather conditions.
The male youth got gold in their category, in a test also characterized by bad weather conditions. The RCND youth, with three rookies rookies, begin the best competitions after the large number of victories that characterized them last season.
The male veteran reached the eighth position in a tough test with strong southwest waves and two meter cross waves. With a renewed team, club veterans are already preparing to achieve their goals in the next competition.
The senior men could not compete due to the strong wind and waves, which compromised the safety of the fleet in the water and caused the suspension of the test.
Jaime Portolés, President of the Real Club Náutico Dénia, thanked the Dianenses rowers for their participation and effort in the first date of the Liga Suma and encourages them to continue their dedication the rest of the season. Next Sunday, November 24, the second regatta will be held in Oliva waters.
