Around 500 schoolchildren work in conflict situations management

The “Habilitats socials” workshop aimed at 6th grade schoolchildren, organized by the Department of Addiction Prevention with the collaboration of the UNED Dénia center, has started this week the second part of this 2019/2020 course, complementing the first one It was held in November 2019.

In total 11 schools and a total of 497 students from the centers of Dénia, Xara and Jesús Pobre participate. This second part of the workshop will take place from March 2 to 10. The Councilor for Addiction Prevention, Melani Ivars, has attended one of the sessions, taught yesterday at Montgó School, to see the dynamics of this activity and how they impregnate student learning.

The facilitators of the workshop are the pedagogues and experts in Social Skills, Lorena Pérez and Cristina Cano, collaborating professionals of the UNED Dénia.

The objective of the workshop is that students acquire, develop and / or improve the skills related to social skills, providing them with tools that allow them to have an adequate interaction in different social contexts, as well as to facilitate the control of behavior in different situations in that can be found throughout life.

Through play and theatricalization of real situations, students work social skills to improve the management of relationships and interactions, both with peers and with other people; as well as the management of conflict situations. The whole workshop revolves around empathy, self-concept, group pressure and assertiveness like many other social skills.
