A group of 24 students of the IES Historian Chabàs de Dénia, accompanied by two teachers, traveled last week to Mallorca within the Expeditionary environmental awareness and education program, organized by the Fundació Baleària. It is the first time that students from the capital of the Marina Alta participate in this project.
The students set sail on Tuesday aboard the ship Nissos Chios When they arrived on the island, they stayed at the Environmental Education Center of the Monestir de Lluc. On Wednesday they made a guided tour through the old town of Palma de Mallorca, following the footprint of the humanist Ramon Llull and on Thursday toured the Monestir de Lluc And their surroundings where they listened to sing to the children of its famous escolanía, known like Els Blauets.
The return to Denia took place on Friday, and during the journey they made another guided tour, this time by the ship. The students, who met the captain, were informed about the energy efficiency programs carried out by the shipping company.
The Expedicionaria program is active from the 2011 and so far more 1.500 students from Mallorca who have traveled to Valencia and Barcelona have participated.
