Last week, the hospitality students of the IES Maria Ibars, initiated the pact established with the Fishermen's Association of Dénia and Creama for the use of the “peix de rebuig” by cooking 3 boxes of deep red crab donated for this purpose.

We all know that the sea is an unstable environment and the factors that influence the catches of our fishermen are massive, these variables have largely conditioned that until a few days ago the commitment promoted by the Punt Nàutic de Creama (agreed during the month of March) because, luckily, all the maritime product collected by the Brotherhood ended up being sold.

This initiative, which will continue in force the next academic year, is designed to channel part of the so-called "peix de rebuig" generated by the Dénia fishermen's association, allocating it to the training of restoration cycles of the Marina Alta, currently taught at IES Maria Ibars.

In this case, those in charge of using the crab donated by the Brotherhood have been the three kitchen groups (1st and 2nd of the CFGM of kitchen and gastronomy and 1st kitchen department). The surplus has been frozen (pre-prepared and fresh) and during the next weeks, the last of the course, they will use it. Specifically, as the pedagogical canteen is closed due to COVID, they have been used to cook family meals and take away food.
