The President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, has started this Monday the works for the design of a plan of use of the beaches of the Valencian Community that combines quality and safety for citizens.
"We have to guarantee the greatest security in this situation of maximum difficulty", has indicated the maximum person in charge of the Consell, who has described the beaches as "an extraordinary resource for Valencians and Valencians"Both "from the tourist point of view" as from the its configuration as united places "to the model of life of the Community".
In these terms, the head of the Valencian Executive has manifested himself after the meeting he has held with the Ministers of Justice, Interior and Public Administration, Gabriela Bravo, and Universal Health and Public Health, Ana Barceló; the Minister for Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Arcadi Spain; the autonomous secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer; the General Director of Ports, Emili Obiol; the president of the Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP), Rubén Alfaro, and the head of Tourism of the FVMP, Vicent Grimalt, to address the first lines of the future Valencian protocol for the use of beaches.
Thus, Puig stressed that the Valencian Community, which has 277 kilometers of beaches and coves, "it has the highest percentage of any peninsular autonomous community with respect to its coast" and, therefore, has proposed "attend to the Valencian reality itself", "order properly" the use and "sponge the daily load action" of the different coastal enclaves.
These premises will be included in the document to be presented next week by the autonomous Executive, together with the Institute for Spanish Tourist Quality (ICTE), to the Government of Spain, as the head of the Valencian Government has advanced.
The Generalitat protocol will also address and analyze issues such as possible measures to limit access to beaches; the definition of cleaning systems; or the control of the load capacity of these places.
"We present our proposal because we think that citizens must be given security"Puig insisted, "but also to managers and municipalities", institutions that have qualified as "fundamental agents" In this situation.
According to the president, in addition to working jointly with the local administration in the design of this plan, it is also intended to collaborate closely with the central government "because it is essential that the whole of Spain have rules", to later be able to single out "in each territory and in each town "depending on the dimensions of each of the beaches.
Social co-responsibility
The President of the Generalitat recalled that still "we are in a pandemic situation" and, therefore, for the safe enjoyment of Valencian beaches "a space of co-responsibility with the citizens must be created".
In this sense, so that the Valencian society knows the wide offer of the Community, and based on the catalog of beaches that includes the Territorial Action Plan for Green Infrastructure of the Coast of the Valencian Community (Pativel), actions will be carried out informative and promotional.
