The Dénia Swimming Club, among the most outstanding of the Autonomous Master Championship

More than positive balance obtained by the swimmers of the Dénia Swimming Club, Real Club Nautico Denia, since in their participation in the Autonomous Master Championship they won 21 medals in individual events and 3 in relays, in addition to adding 3 national records.

The Sedaví pool was the scene of a competition attended by 13 members of the Dianense club. 800 swimmers belonging to 40 clubs of the Comunitat Valenciana participated in this event. The competition was divided into Saturday and Sunday with a total of 38 tests.

One of the highlights was Ineke Weekers, which achieved 3 records of Spain in the 200, 400 and free 800. Carla Ruiz, trainer of the lower categories of the club, won in 200 back and was bronze in 50 back and in the 200 free meters where she was a second of being silver.

María Bisquert added two bronzes in 100 and 50 breaststroke and one silver in free 100. Antonio Albadalejo was gold in 200 fathom and added 2 silver in 200 styles and 100 fathom. Mónica Berenguer was gold in free 800, bronze in 50 back and was fourth in 100 back to a second of bronze.

Arturo Ruiz was gold in free 200, silver in free 800 and fifth in free 400. Carlos Marfil was silver on the 50 back. Gabriel Sanfelix was silver on 100 back and seventh on the free 50. Francesc Miralles, who swam the free 100, was in fourth place two seconds behind the bronze, in a test where there were around 100 swimmers. In the free 50, also with a lot of participation, he obtained the ninth place, as in the 50 breaststroke.

Pau Escutia, who leads the team, could not give everything he wanted since he dragged a flu process, swimming all his tests with fever. He was fourth in 100 butterfly, fifth in the 50 butterfly and seventh in the 100 free. Carlos Giménez was seventh in 50 back, tenth in 200 free and seventeenth in free 100.

For his part, Álvaro de María-Tomé was another of the swimmers who came with health problems, a respiratory infection separated him the last three weeks of training. This swimmer, who in April was bronze in Castellón in the Long Distance Championships, was not one hundred percent, opted to unsubscribe some tests, swam the 800 meters remaining in the sixth place.

In the relay events, the quartet formed by Ineke Weekers, María Bisquert, Carla Ruiz and Mónica Berenguer, got the silver in the 4X100 styles. In the mixed free 4X100, Gabi Sanfelix, Carla Ruiz, María Bisquert and Francesc Miralles won the bronze medal.

In the women's free 4X100, María Bisquert, Ineke Weekers, Carla Ruiz and Mónica Berenguer, were bronze. In the 4X100 mixed styles test, Carla Ruiz, María Bisquert, Pau Escutia and Francesc Miralles finished in fifth place. Another quartet formed by Antonio Albadalejo, Gabi Sanfelix, Ineke Weekers and Mónica Berenguer, swam the mixed 4X100, remaining in the fifth place.

In the 4X100 men, Gabi Sanfelix, Antonio Albadalejo, Pau Escutia and Francesc Miralles, finished in sixth place. The quartet formed by Francecs Miralles, Pau Escutia, Gabi Sanfelix and Carlos Marfil in the free 4X100 finished in sixth place.
In the mixed free 4X100 relay, Carlos Giménez, Moníca Berenguer, Edurne and Antonio Albadalejo were seventh.

The Dénia Swimming Club was in the 12ª position among 40 clubs in this championship, being in men the 16º and in women 10º position of all the Valencian Community.

In total they added 52 metals and the trophy to the third best club in the Petrel Tournament. Now work begins on open water competitions.
