8.200 candles illuminate the streets of downtown in the Nit de la Llum

The Consell de Comerç de Dénia will restart the "Nit de la Llum", an initiative that will take place on December 19.

That day the shops stay open until 23 hours, the city streets will be illuminated with more than 8.200 candles, courtesy of CS candles, choirs local associations enliven the evening with carols, music and dancing will encourage travel and anyone can immortalize his night shopping in one of the two photocalls to be installed in the city center.

The councilor for commerce, Vicente Chelet explained the objective of this initiative, “it is intended to activate consumption, spread the trade of the city and that the money spent on purchases stays here". Michelet has today this activity accompanied by the technique of the AFIC office, Marisa Villó.

This edition will be 95 businesses that join an initiative that will epicenter streets of the historic center but is extended to the street Quevedo. All remain open until 23 hours and many of them offer freebies and discounts on purchases made during the Nit de la Llum. In addition, some vendors offer their products Mercat Municipal from the posts to be installed on the street Magallanes.

The organization has strengthened the lighting of streets and squares and place two thousand more than in the previous edition candles.

Concert of carols

To set the mood for this special night, at 18 pm a carol recital will be held in the Plaza de la Constitución, with the participation of Marist, Sacred Heart and Alpha & Omega schoolchildren with the Al Manchara choirs of the Casa de Castilla- La Mancha, the Home of the Retired and the Colla del Cànter.

At the end of the concert, these three associations, together with the Al-Andalus rociero choir of the Casa de Andalucía, will tour the streets of the historic center cheering with their Christmas carols. Chelet thanked the Youth and Senior and Education councils for their collaboration in coordinating these activities.

Finally, to promote the dissemination of the event on social networks, a draw has been organized on Facebook among those who mark a "Like" to the announcement of the Nit de la Llum. The award will consist of a one-day pass to enjoy the offer of the facilities of the Dénia Sports Center of the Aqualia company
